I don’t want to be ‘computer’ please don’t let me turn into a mere 140′ afterthought. Humanization is real. Connect with others and find your pack of shining stars.
As the next generation of the world blossom and share their thoughts and experiences through social media, the potential for sharp painful criticism grows, however so will individuality and the potential to break out from the norm and shine through unique attributes. It takes a lot of courage, especially at such a young age to fully put yourself out there, while others peer deep into your feelings, judge even criticize with little or no consequences for their actions.
A recent tweet from Miley Ray Cyrus is a bold example of how todays youth uses social media to express, collect and engage with piers.
Once in a while in life you come across someone who knocks your socks off…legitimately. People with a fantastic outlook on life, even during difficult times. Someone that’s really humble, although extremely gifted. Maybe they make you feel special. All of these are amazing qualities and often takes someone equally amazing to realize these qualities in others.
So yes, by expressing your feeling and taking a chance, even for someone like Miley with a huge social influence; you’re subjecting yourself to potential distress; but without taking a chance you may never find those special people, the ones that blow you away and become dear friends for life.
In the past sharing was limited, access to people’s feeling and important corroboration buried, even lost forever within apathy circles.
To make a statement like Miley does in this tweet “Sometimes I feel like I love everyone more than they love me.” portrays selflessness. Many people don’t have the time or interest in others, selflessness is a quality that seems less and less common. Those who are giving and generous in nature have the power to make others feel loved, appreciated and special.
So when the expert advice inside your head, for whatever reason is being challenged by emotion, don’t be afraid to express yourself. Yes you may receive criticism, but you may also display admirable characteristics that are totally legit. It’s ok to express yourself, learn through engagements, raise the bar and lead to bring the world to a better status quo. Empowering others and leading by example will return the solidarity you seek.
Hats off Miley, keep the feeling alive and express your life experiences through your music and make us all feel your aura.
